Just 1.5 hours outside of Los Angeles sits the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserves – fields full of beautiful, vibrant poppy’s as far as you can see!
Driving to Antelope Valley is a beautiful sight in itself. I felt like we were in wine country! Once we got closer to the fields, I was surprised to see just how many people were there to take pictures and soak in the views. So please, wear your masks! Quarantine definitely put this spot on the map.
Tip 1: Go Off-Roading for the Best Views
Obviously, you get amazing views when standing in the Poppy Fields. However, the best views can be found when you drive up the paths that branch off of Lancaster Road. There are beautiful vistas of the valley on the top of these hills. Plus, it is far less crowded than down below.
Tip 2: Go at Sunset
The sunset lighting is prime for taking photos in the poppy fields. The golden glow compliments the orange flowers perfectly. As mentioned before, there are also less people at this time.
Tip 3: Bring a Picnic
This is the one thing we didn’t do and I totally regret it! So many people pulled out their wine and cheese boards when the sun started going down. It would make the perfect date night or family dinner. I am already planning my next trip back just so I can bring a picnic!
I can’t wait to see everyone’s photos!
