In case you didn’t know, I am a second semester college senior *cries.* Graduation is just around the corner, which means I will be applying to jobs soon! After alternating between three outfits every day at my past internships, I’ve realized I need to up my office wardrobe…
Below I have put together some appropriate yet fashionable pieces for the twenty-something gal! All these pieces are super affordable which is perfect because let’s face it, we’re all broke college students. Obviously the way you dress depends on the department and work environment you are in, but these styles have personally worked for me at my past jobs.
I just bought this and I can’t wait to wear it! I had been looking for a super long cardigan for a while but everything seemed too casual. I couldn’t find the right one… until now. The color and cut is classic and timeless. I would wear this with a pair of nice jeans and nude or white mules. The thick material will also keep you warm throughout the day which is a huge plus for me. I don’t know about you, but I always end up freezing at my desk. I might even order another one in a different color to keep at the office!
Speaking of mules, how fun are these? Any mule is great for work, but why not spice things up with a cool print? I looooove the snake skin and the pointed toe. Plus, this shoe has a modest heel which I am all here for #tallgirlproblems.
So I got these leggings for Christmas (thanks mom) and think they would be great for work. They look just like your typical trouser (but comfier). I get so many compliments every time I wear them! I would pair these with a white sweater or blouse, like this one here 🙂
I know you’re probably wondering, “what else did you get for Christmas, Courtney?” Well, great question! I got this skirt from TopShop. I love how the model is styled in the photo, but you could also throw on a pair of black tights to make the look more professional. This skirt is great for the winter months, especially when paired with a black turtle neck. LOVE!
It would be wrong for me not to pick something from H&M. They have the best selection of business casual clothes for affordable prices. Again, I picked an animal print because it will add spunk to your work wardrobe! Pair this with a pair of black trousers and you’re good to go. OH and did I mention this blouse comes in 342803 different colors and patterns? I personally own the black and white striped one and have worn it to a ton of red carpets events with my team!
Although I may have gotten the fashion part down, there’s so much more I have to do to gear up for the “real” world. Do you have any advice for a soon-to-be college grad?
