Palm Springs Getaway

Hi thereeeee.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I just got back from break and I miss it already… Just the thought of having to gear up for finals stresses me out. Thankfully I had a restful weekend in Palm Springs over the holiday.I’ve been to Palm Springs once, but I was only eight-years-old at the time so I hadn’t remembered that much. Palm Springs felt super retro and midcentury to me, which made me feel like I was thrown back in time. I loved all the architecture and design! It was really hot and sunny there which made it perfect for the pool and tanning. We rented a house on VRBO which was just about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown. The backyard had the most amazing view with both a pool and a hot tub.

SO busy yet the food came out quickly and the service was great. I definitely recommend this place. Plus, the interior was so bright and colorful, with old photos of Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe on the walls. After dinner, we walked down the strip and stopped inside an old fashioned candy/soda shop. They had so many crazy soda flavors – my brother bought pickled soda (I wasn’t a fan). I bought a classic coca-cola and razzles. Yum!

It’s a house known for its architecture but I don’t think anyone lives there considering how many people were taking photos of it. It was on a beautiful street so we had fun snapping pics there as well 🙂

IMG_5195DSC_1674DSC_1692DSC_1657After making this pit stop, we decided to have a little fun and play mini golf. Unfortunately I lost. *tears.* We decided to cool off with some milkshakes at an old-fashioned styled ice cream shop. I was cravinggg a root beer float. My boyfriend ordered the cookies n’ cream malt, and my brother ordered the s’mores malt. Again, there were photos of Marilyn Monroe on the wall.

DSC_1706DSC_1709DSC_1705We then chilled out by the pool some more and prepared a delicious barbecue dinner (with Thanksgiving leftovers of course). I had such a fun time and can’t wait to go back sometime soon!

What did you do for Thanksgiving?
