2017 Radio Disney Music Awards

Hey guys,

As the weekend comes to an end, I thought I would share my day at the 2017 RDMA’s for my second year in a row.

I came as my brother Kevin’s guest and we got there around 1:15 pm. My boyfriend, Alex, applied for an audience member ticket that day and got one, so he got to come along too!

On the way to the Microsoft Theater with Alex

After walking the red carpet, we went into the theater with about 30 minutes left to get settled before the show started. It was nice to say hi to some familiar faces. I had some empty seats next to me, so I grabbed Alex from the pit section and he ended up getting to sit with us for the show!

I wore a white set from Express, which included a mesh crop top and pencil skirt. The fabric had cool perforated detail and I loved the cut-out shoulders. You can find the set here. And guess what, it also comes in black 🙂 I’ve grown to really like Express and have been buying a lot from there lately! My shoes were on sale from JCPenny, leaving the total of the enire outfit around $140. Not bad, right?!

Although it was a bit more unorganized this year, I thought there were better performers and guests than last year. My favorite performance was Hailee Steinfeld, with the Britney Spears tribute coming as a close second. OH, and Alessia Cara is always a crowd favorite. Hailee ROCKED out the stage yesterday with her dance moves and songs. She had a whole girl gang up there and I just wanted get up and dance!

Other performers included Julia Michaels, Train, Noah Cyrus, Jordan Fisher and more. Plus, Britney and Jamie-Lynn Spears, Jack Black and Adam Sandler were there! It was a fun crowd. After the show, Kevin and I headed to the after party and grabbed some yummy snacks. The venue was the same as last year and overlooked the Staples center.

Overall, it was a great day. We were pooped by the end of it! And what more perfect way to wrap up the night than dinner out with friends and a bonfire with the parents before crashing into bed. Yup, I’d say it was a successful day!

XX, Courtney
