Disney Dream: Bahamas & Castaway Key

Hello everyone!

I’m currently waiting to board a flight back to Los Angeles after an unforgettable trip on the Disney Dream Cruise. I was fortunate enough to leave for spring break a little bit early to film a promo for the Disney channel with my family, and we had a BLAST.

Before we got to the port, we spent a day in Disney World. We were reconnected with our tour guide Tim who had taken us around the park just a few weeks before. We started off at Hollywood Studios, doing Tower of Terror, Rock N’ Roller Coaster, Toy Story and the Great Movie Ride. We then made our way to Animal Kingdom and did one of my favorites, Everest, and saw The Lion King Show. It was very enjoyable 😊

Afterwards, we headed to Epcot and had lunch in “Canada.” If you ever go, I definitely suggest their beer cheese soup. It was deliciousssss. We then did Spaceship Earth, Test Track, and the Frozen ride.

At this point, my brother and I ditched our parents and went to Magic Kingdom wth Tim! We did a few rides there before calling it a night and heading back to the hotel.

The day we arrived at the ship, we boarded before anyone else so it was just my family and the production crew on board. It was weird being on such a big ship alone; it reminded me of the movie Passengers for those of you who have seen it. We filmed a lot the first day and had dinner in the Enchanted Garden. The next day, we arrived in the Bahamas and it was my mom’s birthday! The two of us got to go off the ship and walk around the shops of Nassau and had a nice little mother-daughter lunch. That night, we had an amazing dinner at the ship’s nicest restaurant, Palo. The place had the most amazing view. At night, we met up with everyone to go to Kareoke 🙂

The next morning we had a 6:30 am wake up call; we filmed around the pool and had about a two hour break to go to Castaway Key, Disney’s private island. The fam and I got our own little hut on the beach, and we had lunch and spent time floating in the crystal clear water. My brother and I then got picked up to do some more filming on the ship, and we wrapped around 5:30. That night the cruise was themed “Pirates in the Caribbean,” so we dressed up to dinner and then saw fireworks. The crew and us and a few friends then went to ANOTHER karaoke night, and we had the most hilarious time going up and making fools out of ourselves.

Finally, the last day. We had this whole day free and just chilled on the ship! We did the pool and tanned, and went to see the Disney show in the theater at night before dinner. After dinner, the gang went to see a magic show, did 80s music trivia and hit up the dance floor until 1 am!

This trip was definitely one that I will always remember! It was so magical and I hope to go back sometime soon. We’ll miss the friends that we’ve made too. Tomorrow morning we are on a flight to Cabo, so stay tuned!

What are your spring break plans?

Courtney
